How To Wear Lumo Lift

It’s easy to wear Lumo Lift on all of your favorite outfits! Follow these simple instructions to wear your Lumo Lift securely and track your posture accurately.

First, slide the square clasp off of the Lumo Lift sensor.

Second, place the Lumo Lift sensor (the larger oval piece) under your clothes, and use the magnetic square clasp to hold the sensor in place.  The Lumo Lift should be worn about one inch below your collarbone.

Third, set your target posture by getting into your best posture then firmly press on the square magnetic clasp.  You will feel three quick confirmation buzzes to let you know that you’re all set.

    So sorry that this happened to you! We had an issue with some of our early bra clips but have fixed the problem and can send you a new one right away!
    Could you please send us your address so that we can you your replacement clip?

      Same thing happened to me just taking it out of the box. The magnet doesn’t seem to fit well into the space allotted on the clip.

        Hi there,

        It sounds like you are trying to put one of the black or silver square clasps into the white plastic bra clip. The bra clip is already magnetic, so this is not necessary! They are meant to be used separately, depending on how you choose to wear your Lumo Lift

          Yes, I figured that out afterwards. I think it’s just confusing because they come put together in the packaging. Also, there’s not really much information about what all the parts are and what to do with all the magnets. (I imagine save them for later?) Thanks for the quick response!

            So true again. My wife returned hers because she couldn’t figure it out and I wasn’t much help because of the lack of instructions. I just found out what that strap clip is by reading this blog. The only think I could guess is it was part of the packaging! Now I’m off to try to find out how to use the step, distance & calorie tracking. I knew it was supposed to be part of the product but since it wasn’t mentioned anywhere I thought it was a feature not released yet…. But today I get a survey and it asked how I liked the step, distance and calorie tracking. Ditto for the Windows desktop app – I found out about it in the survey. Really, really poor customer education / instructions.

            Hi Greg,
            Please tap the activity circle on the main screen to see the step, distance, and calorie tracking. You can tap the circle to switch between the step view and the qualitative view that tells you how you’ve been doing for the past hour.

      Same issue for me. The white clip comes off but the sticky magnet stays attached to the Lift.

      I am the biggest fan of lumolift! My 79 year old mother has early onset Parkinson’s. When wearing the lumolift she is conscious of her posture and does not lose her balance, no falls while wearing lumoLift. Quite an accomplishment. I have purchased 5 or 6 – she looses them. This time we are purchasing a shoulder support and she will put a pocket on it to secure her Lumo lift – then use the magnet.

    I have the same issue. AND I get no vibration at all, while in coaching mode, if I’m walking. I slouched a lot on purpose while walking & nothing. The second I stopped it started vibrating.

      Lumo Lift currently does not monitor posture while you are walking or running.

    I just got my lift and was very puzzled by the little information provided in the box. I had to turn to the computer to find the answer to what is what, to how to turn it on, where to get the app or if there even is one, how to start it up and get it started. I still don’t know if I only get buzzes when I am actually in coach mode. At least add the webpage for the answers to all on that tiny little (pretty much worthless unless you know the answers) pamphlet. Nevertheless looking forward to trying it out now/

    Just got my Lumo Lift. So reading the blog, it seems it doesn’t work when moving and doesn’t work unless in a coaching session. Is that really so? I read where some are saying it is too sensitive. I am finding the opposite. It is hardly sensitive even with coaching session and sitting still. I have to go way out of alignment to get a vibration….. and often none at all. Sometimes a twist will bring it on but not a slouch. And I have it with a button down shirt near my collar bone. I am disappointed but maybe my unit is defective.

      Hi Jack,

      Lumo Lift tracks your activity while you are moving, and tracks your posture all day, even if you aren’t in a Coaching Session. However, you only receive vibration feedback while in a Coaching Session. Is your Lumo Lift properly Aligned? If you still aren’t receiving vibrations, please try shutting down your app by double-pressing the home button of your iPhone and swiping up on the Lumo Lift app, then restarting the app.

          Hi Leslie,
          No, not at all! You just need to be in a Coaching Session to receive vibration feedback. Otherwise, your data will just sync the next time you open your app. You can activate a Coaching Session directly from your sensor by long-pressing the button on your sensor.

    I just received my Lumo Lift and am confused about the uses of each of the 5 parts received. One is the charger with the long cord for charging the sensor. Second is the oval Lumo Lift sessor itself. The next three items each contain a magnet. Two of these are small square items with magnets. The fifth is a piece of plastic of about 1 inch by 3/4 inch and it includes a magnet. Are all three of these magnet items just alternate means of attaching the sensor itself to your clothing?       You can choose the length of your Coaching Session when you start a session from the app!

        The ability to choose length of coaching session must only be available on Windows phones. I have an iphone and don’t get this option. So if coaching is set to on, is it on all day until I turn it off?

          Hi Adria, we’ve updated the app from the time this video was made, and the coach feature of the Lumo Lift has since evolved to be slightly different. Currently, you can customize the delay of your coach vibrations to anywhere between 3 seconds (immediate feedback) to 10 minute (reminder), and once you turn on Coach Vibrations either through the app or directly through the sensor, it will remain turned on until explicitly turned off.     Hi Ben,
    We recommend that everyone wear Lumo Lift about an inch from their collarbone. We’ve found that many men like to wear Lumo Lift on their undershirt, or under a shirt collar.

    Hi JD – yes, it’s as simple as putting the Lumo Lift sensor behind your shirt and attaching it with a magnetic clasp on the outside!

    I got it a month ago and have spent literally hours in the computer trying to figure out how to use it. I’ve gone through the videos but it does not work quite well,; I feel the buzzes when I set it and then I keep it pressed till it buzzes once so I have the couch settings, but afterwards I do’nt receive any feedback when I am blending or launching, neither it keeps the records . I startted my ipad app but does not show any recods since.

        My bra clip detached from the magnet, so I used just the little square and I was wearing the sensor at the top of my bra cup, just below the bra strap connection. The bra was padded so I guess the square magnet did not hold it well and I lost it. I was so disappointed as I loved the little guy! It was really helping me keep good posture. Bummer!

    My lumo lift came today. It’s been charging for over 3 1/2 hours, and has a green light on the charger, but I can’t seem to wake the little guy up. Any tips?

    I just started using my lift this week (it arrived in early 2015) and after 3 days, the magnet didn’t stay on when I put it on for the weekend and I ended up losing it. How would I go about getting a replacement? I want to fix my posture as much as possible! Thank you!

    Hi Hank, thanks for reaching out. The Lumo Lift is sweat proof so this should not be an issue. The athletic tape is a great alternative to the magnetic clasps, as loose shirts do indeed interfere with accuracy of your Lumo Lift.     On your web site it is written that the package icludes sensor, 2 clasps and charging dock, but I want to get a bra clip, so how can I get it?
