You should not need to re-Align your Lumo Lift sensor between standing and sitting.

Lumo Lift only vibrates when you slouch while in a timed Coaching Session. Please check out this post to learn how to use Coaching Sessions: http://www.lumobodytech.com/2014/08/how-to-use-coaching-sessions/

    Hi Francisco,

Lumo Lift vibrates when you are in a timed Coaching Session. To enter a Coaching Session, press “Coach” on the main screen of the Lumo Lift app. Alternatively, you can initiate a Coaching Session by pressing and holding the button on your Lumo Lift sensor. You will feel a long buzz to signal the start of the Coaching Session. Please be sure to Align your sensor before you start a session by getting into good posture and double-pressing on your sensor.

If you are in a Coaching Session and have aligned your sensor, but are not receiving vibrations when you slouch, please restart your Lumo Lift app by following these steps:
    1) Double-press the home button on your iPhone or iPad. This will launch a view of all of the apps that you have open.
    2) Scroll right to find the Lumo Lift app, then swipe that screen up toward the top of your screen. This will close the Lumo Lift app.
    3) Re-open your Lumo Lift app.

Coaching Sessions should now function properly.

    Best,
    Fiona

    Hi Steve,

You can wear your Lumo Lift either horizontally or vertically, just be sure to Align your sensor.

The longest Coaching Session at the moment is one hour, but look for longer sessions in the future.

    Fiona

      Hi-
      I have few questions and a comment/idea:

In the app, the longest coaching session you can set is for 12 hours, so in order to get lumo lift to reliably buzz when I slouch, I’ll need to start a new coaching session every 12 hours? I really wish Lumo lift just had an “ON” and “OFF” so when it was “ON” I could know it would buzz when I slouch. Can you add an ‘infinite’ coaching session? The time limited coaching sessions are very counter-intuitive. Does performing an alignment on the Lumo Lift start a coaching session? If you’ve timed out of a coaching session, does aligning the Lumo Lift have any effect? What, in fact, is the function of the lumo lift outside of a coaching session, and if there is no function, then … why let it fall out of a coaching session?

Mac desktop support will come later this year, with Android 4.3+ support coming next year!

I just received 3 Lumo lifts that I preordered and I must say that the accompanying instructions are extremely lacking. I should not have to use Google and sleuth around on the Internet to find out how to use this expensive device and the various features. So far, I have had a frustrating experience and I predict a high level of customer dissatisfaction due to the lack of instructions. I even find what you have here on this website to be fragmented and unclear. You are sacrificing clear communication with your customers for minimalist design. It is NOT working.

It is indeed confusing…I’m looking for a guide that tells me what each piece in the package is and how to put it together using the magnets et al. Is there a guide somewhere?

Did you see the quickstart guide in our comment above?

The 3 magnetic pieces are different ways to wear your Lumo Lift. You can choose to use either the silver or black square magnetic clasp, or you can attach Lumo Lift to your bra strap using the white clip.

Wait, in oder to check my posture, I can only use the Lumo Lift for an hour at a time in coach mode when connected via blue tooth to the app on my phone? I thought I would be able to put it on in the morning, calibrate it, and then have it buzz me when I’m slouching throughout the day. Actually, I thought that was the point of this device when I signed on to the Kickstarter many months ago. So in reality, I have to think about the fact that it is draining my phone’s battery every time I use it to check my posture and I have to remember to set up the coach mode every hour throughout the day. Bummer. :-/

      Hi Toby,

Coaching mode actually works without being connected to your app. You don’t need to have the app running or your phone’s bluetooth turned on. If you turn on a 1-hr Coaching Session through the app, future sensor-activated Coaching Sessions will also last for an hour.

      Hope this helps!

    Hi Jake,

You’re right about a) and b). Lumo Lift actually never turns off, so you don’t need to turn it on or off. 3-presses isn’t a function that we use at this time. Also note that a long-press can turn Coaching Sessions off as well as on.

Check out our quickstart guide for a list of button functions: http://www.lumobodytech.com/2014/08/lumo-lift-quick-start-guide/

    Hi April,

Yes, it sounds like your white plastic bra clip broke. Can we provide a replacement? Please email support@lumobodytech.com with your address.

The 3 magnets that are glued to the back of the plastic packaging are just used to hold the Lumo Lift components in place. They are not part of the product.

    Best,
    Fiona

I can barely see the light (and often can’t make it out). Is it meant to be so faint or could there be an issue with my Lumo? Also, if the Lumo never turns off, how does it know when I am wearing it (and would like the data to be tracked) and when I left it in my drawer.

The light is not super bright so that it won’t show through your clothing. Do you have a black Lumo Lift? The light may appear dimmer on a black sensor.

Although Lumo Lift doesn’t have an “off” switch, it can tell when it isn’t being worn and goes into a sleep mode.

I just got my Lumo here in Switzerland. But cant’t get it startet. When i sign in with my recovery password, the second screen shows the data of a women: 34 years, 165 cm, 65 kg. I’m a man! There are two additional fields: First / Last. Both are required fields. What do i have to fill in there? The footage above does not show this step. I was not able to find relevant information. Thank you for your instruction or the link i could find it.

      Hi there,

You should be able to change the height, age, and weight fields away from the default measurements. The First/Last fields are for your first and last name.

      Hope that helps!

You really need to explain which apps are available on phones clearly.
    Even prior to ordering.
Quite annoying we spent this much money and its not available on most Android phones?
When will you add more phones?

Hi, im trying to re-star using my Lumo. Ive done the step on the iphone to set it, but when I get to the last step (Align you Lumo Lift – double press your Lift to align). I double pressed it, the Lift buzz, but nothing else happens. It doesn’t go to the next page (the one you see your statistics), it keeps on the same page, so my Lift isn’t telling me to aling my posture or counting steps. Am I doing anything wrong? Thanks!

I received my lumo lift for Christmas and I love it but as Lindsay said, it worked for 4 days and it worked great but now it won’t vibrate when I slouch. It will vibrate when I tap it but then nothing. It is tracking my steps and says I have had 1 good posture hour but no vibrations.

Hey Samantha, thanks for your comment! It sounds like perhaps you have Coach Vibrations turned off. The Lumo Lift will only vibrate for posture correction if Coach Vibrations is turned on — either through the app under Coach, or by holding and pressing the Lumo Lift sensor for 3 seconds (1 buzz when you turn it on, 2 buzzes when you turn it off).

Additionally, the delay for Coach Vibrations may be set to too long that you aren’t receiving vibrations. For immediate feedback for posture, set your Coach Vibrations time delay to 3 seconds in the app. Hope this helps!

I recently purchased my limo lift. Worked great, but now isn’t being picked up by the app. It says to press and release my lift to start the process, but I immediately get a green light, then nothing else happens. Still won’t pick up the sensor.

Can my Lumo Lift be connect to both my computer and my phone or is it one or the other?

    • Ellie Kulick

      14.01.2016

Hi Kathy, your Lumo Lift can only connect to once device at a time, but you can be signed into your account on both. Your Lumo Lift will auto-reconnect to the last device you were connected to, so if you want to switch devices, you’ll have to either unlink your Lumo Lift or turn off bluetooth on your device. After you unlink or turn off bluetooth, you ca restart the app on the device you wish to connect to and your Lumo Lift should automatically connect.

      Thanks!
