As our Technical Lead, Supriya is in charge of making sure that everything runs smoothly on our software engineering team. As you might guess, that’s no small feat!
What is your role at Lumo BodyTech?
As Technical Lead, I am in charge of managing our software applications on iOS and other platforms. I coordinate lots of fast-changing software parts with cross-functional teams to make sure they come together as an awesome product. I am also responsible for keeping our development teams on track so that we are always aligned with the vision of our company and release quality products. Additionally, being an engineer, I enjoy designing and building new software components that form the core infrastructure of various new applications and sensors in Lumo’s Products.
What do you love about working for Lumo? Why are you excited about Lumo Lift?
We are constantly working on new ideas and thinking of applications that will help us transform the Wearable Tech space, so it’s always exciting to be here! Lumo Lift has been an excellent achievement in that direction. Our goal at Lumo has always been to build devices and applications that have a real impact on our everyday lives, and I’m proud to be a part of a team that is successfully improving people’s health. Our advanced bio-mechanical model has been successful in capturing various body movements in real-time, and this is just the beginning! I am excited to be a part of this next wave of Consumer Technology, and I’ve been so happy to see the success of Lumo Lift’s crowd funding campaign. We’ve been working hard as a team to deliver an engaging product, so it’s great to see that so many people are excited about Lumo Lift.
What are some of the challenges that you have to overcome?
Whenever we come up with new ideas and iterations for our hardware and software systems, we obviously need to find a way to successfully turn these ideas into reality by creating breakthrough products and applications. This involves going through several stages of requirement analysis, designing new complex software systems, and then building and rapidly iterating throughout the process. We always need to work quickly and carefully to successfully bring dependable, engaging new products to market, so to me, the real challenge is to successfully execute on these new innovations.
On to the fun stuff! How do you spend your free time?
I enjoy listening to and playing music. I love playing my Sitar, a stringed instrument used in Indian classical music. I also enjoy gardening, hiking, and biking in the beautiful Northern California weather. I’m especially fond of the water and coastal views!
