How to Stay Active This 4th of July Weekend

The 4th of July is a great opportunity to soak up some summer sun while enjoying delicious food and good company. However, why not take advantage of the day off and the holiday weekend to do something healthy and active, too? You’ll enjoy all of your favorite barbeque foods even more if you’ve worked up an appetite! Here are some of our favorite ways to stay active on the 4th of July.

4th of july parade.jpg1) March in a parade: If your community has a celebratory parade, try finding a group to march with. This is an awesome, patriotic way to stay active on the 4th of July. You’ll have fun walking along the parade route and will burn many more calories than you would be if you stood on the sidelines instead.

2) Hit the mall: Yes, you read that right! We know there are lots of 4th of July sales going on, so put on your comfy shoes and head to the mall to score some great summer deals. You’ll rack up plenty of steps without even thinking about it. Try parking far away to fit in even more walking!

4) Find a fun run: Many cities host 5k walks and fun runs on the 4th, so check to see if there is one near you. Fuel your competitive side by trying for a personal best running time, or take it easy and walk or jog with your family and friends – either way, you’ll get in a great cardio workout!

No matter how you decide to stay active this 4th of July, Team LUMOback wishes you and your loved ones a very happy Independence Day!
